The truth about this modified Land Rover Discovery
Sorry to be dull but it is modified to be a moving camera car. Even has two stickers to that effect. I know there are lots of posts suggesting it is some home-built weird design…but that’s not the case. There’s various FB saying things like:
What in the Universal Credit, fridge in the front garden, Peppa Pig plate used as an ashtray, crisis loan, this town is full of snakes, Strongbow Dark Fruits, Tesco value ham, front garden trampoline, lip filler paid with child benefit, just me and me kids now on, 35p energy drink, shouting in the street in your dressing gown, I swear down on me mums life, live laugh love, two’s on that? Silver crushed velvet living room, one pouch of baccy til next Monday is going on here?
The D4 was a popular choice for camera crews because it has a split tailgate so an operator need not shoot through glass and the lower tailgate offers protection. Add in a spacious boot, decent power, good handling, tow and offroad and you can see why the car was popular.
The exhausts are re rerouted not for looks but so the heated air does not interfere with the shot or posion the occupants.
Having done a lot of vehicle to vehicle photography- known as tracking shots – I can attest such cars are very useful tools.
